This school term Portsmouth Sail Training Trust has achieved so much.

We’ve partnered with Trafalgar Wharf to help offer our participants insight into many of the potential career opportunities within the UK’s marine sector. So far our participants have had 3 tours. From the Shipyard and Drystack to Boat Club Trafalgar and RIBs For Sale there was plenty to show and tell on their recent tours of Trafalgar Wharf.  We’re working together with Trafalgar Wharf to offer work experience opportunities for the sailors.

During this school term, 40 of our participants have completed their RYA First Aid courses. This is an incredibly useful course, teaching our students all about first aid from a boating perspective. It is also a key qualification for a career in watersports!

Our participants had an amazing time for the opening ceremony of the Sea Angling Classic in Portsmouth.  A group of our participants took part in the flag parade as flag bearers for the event! They also got to head out onto the water for the boat parade and to watch the start of the competition. Decathlon Portsmouth also provided our participants with some lovely new branded tops!
